Communication between a man accused of attempted murder and his lawyers has once again broken down.

Kyle Peeace appeared in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Thursday, while his defence lawyer Nick Brown was on the phone.

Brown told the court that he was having issues getting a hold of Peeace at the Regina Correctional Centre and had the case adjourned to March 7.

This isn’t the first time communication has broken down between Peeace and his defence lawyer. Peeace was originally represented by Legal Aid-appointed lawyer Doug Andrews.

Peeace started raising concerns in early January because he hadn’t heard from Andrews. On Jan. 3, Andrews appeared via telephone and told the court that Peeace wanted to seek new counsel and withdrew as his defence lawyer.

Peeace is charged with attempted murder along with his brother Dillon following an alleged machete attack that took place in downtown Moose Jaw on Sept. 28.

Peeace is also facing charges of assault with a weapon, breaching an undertaking, failing to attend court, and breaking and entering.
