One person in hospital with 'serious injuries' after being struck on HWY 1

One person is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle this morning on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Moose Jaw.

The accident was reported to Moose Jaw Police at approximately 9:16 a.m. this morning (March 14, 2024). Police responded to the accident involving someone trapped under a vehicle on Highway 1 near Lakeview Road.

The person who was struck has been taken to the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The condition of this individual is unknown at this time.

Moose Jaw Police say the accident is still under investigation. 

A section of the west-bound Trans-Canada Highway between the Manitoba Expressway and Thatcher Drive East has since reopened after being closed for several hours.
