Peacock Collegiate announced back in March that its Centennial Auditorium is getting a $500,000 series of upgrades, aimed at replacing the seats and flooring, all the way to renovations on and behind the stage.

The auditorium hasn't received many upgrades over the years and looks much the same as it did 52 years ago when it was first built.

Currently the donation campaign is at the halfway point, around $250,000.

Principal of Peacock Collegiate Dustin Swanson explained how to make a donation.

"The easiest way to make a contribution is actually to go to our website its 'newseats.ca'. On that website you'll find a link to donations, you'll find some of the promotional materials, you'll find a little bit of the vision for the auditorium, and

Centennial auditorium. more details about how to be involved."

An open house will be taking place at the auditorium Thursday, May 23rd at 4:30 PM for anyone who has an interest in donating or anyone just interested to seeing the auditorium in its entirety.

"We want to say right out just thank you to everyone that's shown some interest from making a donation to sharing the video on Facebook to telling your friends", said Swanson. "We really need the information to get out and to be shared with everyone."
