Carol Acton is saying goodbye to Hunger in Moose Jaw as the Executive Director of the local non-profit agency as she is retiring.

Acton says Hunger in Moose Jaw now provides lunches for 350 local children who otherwise might go without and she says it's a number that has grown.

"We're really lucky that the community supports us," said Acton. "This community has been a wonderful place to work and so supportive of the programs that Hunger In Moose Jaw provides. It's been a privilege for me to be at Hunger In Moose Jaw and to have such challenging and great work for all these years."

Sharla Sept takes over from Carol Acton, who has retired after 12 years in the role at the non-profit agency.

Sept says she knew Hunger in Moose Jaw helped a number of low-income families, but didn't know to what extent until she got the job.

"Maybe the most surprising thing for me was the number of kids that we're serving and the number of families and the people that we're helping. I wasn't aware of what the number was and I just watch as the staff does it so graciously, it's such a privilege to be involved."

Sept's first official day in the new position was June 28th.
