You'll still hear the music and all that's making local news, local sports and the weather forecast but, tomorrow and Wednesday on this radio station, we'll be asking you to help us ensure that critical care is available to the next patient anywhere, at any time. That next patient could be you or someone in your family.

The STARS Critical Care on the Air Radiothon will be our focus for two days as we ask you for your donation to help keep STARS in the air in Saskatchewan.

It's an incredible service we have. STARS air ambulance operates a fleet of Airbus H145 helicopters with a custom medical interior, enabling the aircraft to serve as a mobile intensive care units.

I've talked to a number of people - patients who have STARS to thank for being alive.

I have an old friend who believes he wouldn't be here, working and raising his family if STARS hadn't been there for him.

I've seen STARS helicopters in the air and I always think about how fortunate we are to have the service and then I wonder what happened and hope the patient or patients will survive.

We can literally help save lives tomorrow and Wednesday on the STARS Critical Care on the Air Radiothon.

I hope you can tune it in and make a donation.
