Oh, we still get lots of phone calls and messages on e-mail and social media but we don't get much mail anymore.

Back in the 80s and well into the 90s we'd look forward to the daily delivery.  We'd get cards and letters from people around Saskatchewan, including a listener from Regina who would write two and three pages of jokes and one-liners, original material, in hopes we'd use one on the radio.  And we often did.

There aren't many people who take the time to actually craft a handwritten letter anymore so, when we get one, it's special.

Yesterday, I got one.  It's from a local lady named Ruby.  Her penmanship is immaculate.

Ruby shared some inspirational messages she received from friends recently, one reminding her that not everything is cancelled these days.

"The sun is not cancelled.  Spring is not cancelled," and we've still got relationships, love, reading, devotion, music, imagination, kindness and hope.

Ruby also wrote, "Thank you for helping us pass our days."

Ruby, thanks for making my day.
