Another extension has been given to a major project in Moose Jaw.

There was a special meeting of City Council on Thursday that resulted in a months extension to their contract for purchase of land by Canadian Protein Innovation.

Mayor Fraser Tolmie says City Hall received a letter from CPI's lawyer saying they would not be able to fulfill their contract obligations by the end of August and needed another month.

No reason was given by the mayor, citing contract privacy.

At the meeting, council approved an extension to Oct 3rd.

It was back in June that CPI was given a two month extension when investors misunderstood the conditions on the contract, thinking that they just needed to prove they had financing in place when in fact they needed to pay the city for the land by June 30th.
