Over $14.4 million was received by the City of Moose Jaw for building permits in the month of September.

There were 27 permits issued, three more than September of 2019, but $11.8 million more than the previous year.

The big boost came from a $12.9 million permit for a new government utility building at 1525 Fourth Ave. NW.

To date, 198 building permits have been issued totaling $26.5 million. Last year at this time, 195 permits were issued worth $17.5 million for a difference of about $9 million.

Only 11 new dwellings have been built so far in 2020, compared to 22 in 2019. There have also been two demolitions this year.
