Leighton Bearchell and Debbie Arguin walked away the winners in the Lynbrook Golf Club’s annual Labour Day Tournament, which was held on Sunday and Monday.

Bearchell fired a two-round total of 145 to win the men’s division by five strokes over Trevor Benson.

Arguin edged out Dianne Breton by six strokes with a two-day total of 176 to capture the ladies’ first flight.

The low net for the ladies was Adele Owatz with a score of 148, which was one stroke better than Linda Stirton.

The low net in the men’s first flight was won by Ryan Pulai with a score of 145, which topped John Stirton by one shot.

Bob Desjarlais won the men’s second flight with a score of 159 over the two days. He beat Jim Swaok by five strokes. Tim Peakman captured the low net in the flight with a 140, that was two shots better than David Gould.

The men’s third flight was won by Steve Wright with a two-day total of 159, which was six shots better than Marv Maier. The low net title in the flight went to Ken Jattansingh with a score of 136, which edged out Marv Merkel’s 142.

Mike Zerr won the men’s fourth flight via retrogression over David Morrell after they both fired scores of 176 over the two days. The low net in the flight was won by Don Thompson with a score of 131, which was eight shots better than Bob Spencer.

Debbie Firth captured the ladies’ closest to the pin on the fifth hole, while Maier took the men’s on the same hole.
