Moose Jaw's two Novice lacrosse teams went head-to-head on Tuesday night at Mosaic Place.

The Mustangs 1 will have bragging rights as they pulled off a 7-2 win over the Mustangs 2 in the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League.

The win improves the Mustangs 1 record to a league-best 10-0-1, while the Mustangs 2 fall to 6-3-1, which has them in third place in the Novice Division.

Brody Pladson led the Mustangs 1 with a hat trick, while Ryder Gilroy had two goals. Roman Markin and Bennet Burns also scored in the win.

On the other side, Nash Williams had both goals for the Mustangs 2 in the loss.

The Mustangs 2 are back on the court on Wednesday night to host the Weyburn Thrashers 2 at the Kinsmen Arena at 7 p.m. The Mustangs 1 are off until next Tuesday when they travel to Weyburn.

The Moose Jaw Bantam Mustangs picked up a huge win on Tuesday night in Swift Current.

Moose Jaw scored four times in the third period on their way to an 8-1 win over the Rampage 2 in the South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League.

The Mustangs are now 5-4-1 on the year.

Swift Current actually scored first in the game with Adam Zanidean finding the back of the net midway through the first period, but Moose Jaw's Ethan Johnson was able to even the scoring just over three minutes later.

Johnson finished with a goal and three points in the win for the Mustangs, while Liam Fitzpatrick also had a goal and three points.

Eight different players found the back of the net as Moose Jaw scored eight unanswered goals. Rowan Calvert, Braxton Mac Angus, Carter Michaluk, Davin Williams, Brennan Blatz and Lucas Salkin were the other goal scorers for the Mustangs.

The Mustangs are back in action on Sunday when they host both the Rampage squads at the Kinsmen Arena.
