October is Agriculture month here in Saskatchewan, and celebrating our province's long history of farming is something many people hold sentimental value to.

So far it hasn't been a good year for harvest with the spots of rain and the recent snowstorm, but all things considered, farmers will be working many long days to make sure the crop gets in.

Dale Scott is the Branch Manager for Youngs Equipment here in Moose Jaw, he dives into what a lot of farmers will be going through in the next while.

"Well it's definitely challenging for them to finish harvesting what's left out there, it's a lot harder for the equipment to get it off the field so it's definitely going to be difficult."

Scott adds that the success of his own business is directly tied to the success of the farmers in the area, he elaborates.

"It's imperative that farmers are successful and have a chance to grow a crop and market it and get paid for what they grow. Essentially that boils down to what we do, we sell equipment and they need it to farm and produce the crop and we need them to spend their money with us so it's very important."

Scott also mentioned that if the crop can't be harvested in time, farmers will have to combine into spring which won't be good for anyone.
