CWB Market Research Service’s hit the road again last week to update the crop conditions across the Prairies.

The best looking crops with the best yield potential were found in Western Manitoba and Eastern Saskatchewan.

Bruce Burnett says the driest area was in West Central Saskatchewan although they have recently seen some rain and hail move through.

"Crops are very short. Establishment, especially for canola has been poor in those areas. Pea crops are very short as well. Lentils are holding in fairly well, the durum and wheat though has already suffered, and it's starting to get to the point where it's in the soft to mid stage, so there's not a lot that can happen to help it in terms of improving yields."

Burnett says crops are variable further south in the Leader, Swift Current, Assiniboia and Weyburn area  crops  are mixed in pockets where people got some rainfall during the growing season.
