Politicians and residents across the country are still sharing their opinions after watching and hearing about the statement from the former Attorney General surrounding SNC-Lavalin.

One of those voices is our local Member of Parliament for Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan, Tom Lukiwski. He said he was stunned after hearing from Jody Wilson-Raybould and believes there were definite wrongdoings by the leader of our country and some of his associates.

"The important thing I think for Canadians and Moose Javians to understand, what these officials - what Prime Minister Trudeau and his officials did was against the law, it was absolutely breaking the law," Lukiwski exclaimed. "It is obstruction of justice and that is one of the most serious crimes that can be committed in government because our government is supposed to be respecting the rule of law and this was anything but that."

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer spoke earlier this week asking for two things: to have Justin Trudeau resign, and to have the RCMP investigate. Lukiwski said he believes that the claims made against our Prime Minister calls for investigators to open a case.

"I firmly believe there will be. I don't think there could be anything but an investigation based on the testimony. In addition to that Mr. Scheer has written to the Commissioner of the RCMP formally requesting an investigation, and I'm sure that request will be complied with. This is serious stuff, this isn't just a political story anymore, this is a criminal, wrongdoing at one of the highest offices in Canada."

Lukiwski stated that it's not just members of his party disappointed and even outraged after hearing Wilson-Raybould's testimony. He also read an article by a national journalist who said it's time for a change in leadership.

"Who said the proper course of action in his opinion would be for the Prime Minister to call upon the Governor-General of Canada to dissolve Parliament and call an immediate election in April so that Canadians can pass judgment on this. That's how serious this is," said Lukiwski. "All I know is this, that this is one of the most shameful acts that we've seen from any sitting Prime Minister in my lifetime and it has to be dealt with and it has to be dealt with soon."
