The average weekly wage in Saskatchewan was higher in January than it was in December, as wages across the country increased last month. Each province saw an increase in wages, ranging from a 4.5 percent jump in Nova Scotia to a 0.9 percent increase here in Saskatchewan. The wages in Saskatchewan were still above the national average of $1,011, however.

The average weekly wages in Saskatchewan climbed to $1024.05 in January, an increase from $1,009.96 in December. The amount year over year, however, was just $9 from January of 2018.

The industry with the highest wages in January was the oil and gas sector, where the average weekly wage crept up to $2,037. The highest increase in any one sector of the economy was information and cultural industries, where the wages jumped up by more than $200 between December and January.
