Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a project started by Samaritans Purse back in 1993. The goal is to send out shoe boxes filled with clothes, toys, school supplies and toiletries and sends them to kids around the globe who need or don't have access to these kind of items.

Groups in Moose Jaw spent the last few weeks collecting and packaging items before they were picked up during the collection week (Nov. 13th-19th).

The Alliance and Victory churches worked together to package boxes and got a lot more than they expected.

"Definitely a lot more than we've ever done," said Dan Goddard, a pastor at Victory Church. "Our goal this year was to do over 300 [boxes], so we were excited that we got 560."

All of the boxes packed in Moose Jaw are being sent to Calgary, where they will be organized and sent out to countries all around the world.

"Our church would like to thank the whole city of Moose Jaw," added Godarrd. "Because it wasn't just people in our church, it was people from all over Moose Jaw who had brought supplies and helped pack the boxes."
