Jessie Halvorsen, his mentor Mark Gilliland and Sebasten Halvorsen are once again teaming up to put a scare into your Halloween.

Jessie Halvorsen and Gilliland are putting on a backyard haunted house fundraiser at 222 Athabasca St. W. on Sunday.

Gilliland says voluntary donations will be taken at the event, with the funds going towards a treat for the staff at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Hospital.

“We're just going to get some donuts and as much coffee as we can buy with the funds that we raise just to go up there one evening and hopefully just cover the whole shift that's working at the hospital, just to say thanks for what they do,” he said.

Gilliland added that the donations are already starting to roll in early with the ACT service club kick-starting the fundraiser.

The haunted house will open around sundown and Jessie Halvorsen talked about what you can expect.

“We've been working hard with building props, decorations and we actually got quite a big team together to be doing this. So, we got about six or seven different scares planned in the backyard,” he said.

Jessie said everyone is welcome to attend, but it could be too scary for smaller children. Candy will be handed out for kids that attend.

This isn’t the first time that Jessie Halvorsen and Gilliland put on the haunted house. They put it on last year, with the funds going to the Moose Jaw Police Service and the Moose Jaw Fire Department.

The duo is also behind the Night of Warmth fundraiser where they camp out for a night, usually taking place around February, to raise money for Riverside Mission and raise awareness towards homelessness.
