The Moose Jaw branch of the Regina YMCA is gearing up for their Urban Adventure Summer Day Camp, and registration opens from May 1st until the 31st.

According to Brenden Hutchinson, the program coordinator, each week of the day camp is geared towards specific age groups.

“So we do ages 6 all the way up to 13. So, we have a week for (ages) 6 and 7, a week for 8 and 9, 10 and 11, and 12 and 13,” says Hutchinson.

Each day of the week has a different theme that has different outdoor activities around Moose Jaw.

Monday is Meet Me Monday when campers will participate in icebreaker games to start relationship building.

Then there’s Team Up Tuesday where the kids will explore sports, sport-themed crafts, and team-building activities.

Then kids will experience true camping on Wakamow Wednesday in Wakamow Valley. The campers will participate in canoeing, archery, bonfires and more.

Imagine That Thursday will focus on the kid’s creative and artistic skills with Lego and STEM activities.

Lastly, there’s Splash-tacular Friday which is all about water activities. The kids will get to go swimming at the Kinsmen Sportsplex, play with water balloons, and much more.

There’s a registration fee of $125 per week.

Parents can register by calling 306-757-9622 and pay as of May 1st.

“There’ll be a link (where) they can create their account, sign in and then once the program is up there they can add it to their cart, select their week, and then they can pay right on the website,” says Hutchinson.

The week for children ages 6 and 7 are the weeks of July 4th and August 2nd.

For children ages 8 and 9 the day camp weeks are July 11 and August 8th.

Kids that are 10 and 11 years old can attend the day camp on the weeks of July 18th and August 15th.

Then for kids that are 12 and 13 years old, their weeks to attend are July 25th and August 22nd.

The day camp hours run from 9 am to 4 pm and parents can drop off their kids as early as 8:30 am.

There is a maximum capacity for each week so early registration is encouraged.
