The Moose Jaw Warriors picked up their third straight win and now have points in four straight games after posting a 5-4 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday at Mosaic Place.

20-year-old forward Tristin Langan put together a big night with a natural hat trick and four points in the win, while Justin Almeida added three assists and Ryan Peckford had a goal and two points.

The Warriors are now 3-2-1-0 through six games this season.

Moose Jaw started a little slow out of the gates, but when they found their legs, they were able to pin the Broncos inside their zone with an aggressive forecheck, which led to a 20-8 advantage on the shot clock in the period.

Moose Jaw scored the game's first goal at 2:54, when Brecon Wood took a quick shot from the top of the left circle that went off the crossbar then ricocheted off of goalie Joel Hofer and over the goal line.

The visitors tied the game at one at 18:08, when Alec Zawatsky picked up a rebound inside the Moose Jaw left circle and took a quick shot that found the back of the net.

In the final moments of the period, the Warriors pressed the Broncos net, Almeida who took a quick shot and the bouncing puck eventually landed on Langan's stick, who scored his third of the year with 1.9 seconds left in the period to give Moose Jaw a 2-1 lead.

The Warriors extended their lead while on the power play at 7:35 of the second period, when Almeida found Langan on top of the Swift Current crease where he deflected in his second goal of the game.

Just 13 seconds into the third period, the Warriors went up by three when Langan scored his natural hat trick goal, burying a rebound from the top of the Broncos' crease.

Swift Current’s power play pulled them to within two at 3:54 with a goal from Connor Horning, but Moose Jaw responded with a goal from Peckford to go back up by three.

Late in the third, the Broncos fought their way back in the game when they picked up goals from Ethan Regnier and Max Patterson only 30 seconds apart starting at 16:29.

The Broncos pulled their goalie in the final moments as they looked for an equalizer, but the Warriors held their ground and battled their way to the one-goal win.

Moose Jaw outshot Swift Current, 40-26, in the game, including 20-8 in the first period. The Warriors were 1-for-5 on the power play and 3-for-4 on the penalty kill.

The team will have the rest of the Thanksgiving Long Weekend to relax and recover from the weekend. They’ll be back on the practice ice on Monday to get ready for games next weekend against Brandon and Spokane.
