The Moose Jaw Warriors found out how strong defensively that the Everett Silvertips are on Friday night.

The Tribe struggled to create an offensive attack during a 5-0 shutout loss to the Silvertips at Xfinity Arena.

Everett established a strong fore-check in the first period, which kept the Warriors pinned inside their line.  The Warriors on the other hand weren’t able to come up the ice as smooth as they would have like and ended up getting outshot 9-1 in the first period.

At the midway point the opening frame, the Silvertips found themselves on the power play.  Warriors goalie Brody Willms made a nice save on a shot from the blue line, but wasn’t able to hold on to the puck and Everett forward Graham Millar whacked away to chip in the game’s opening goal.

Everett’s strong defensive play continued in the second period, limiting the Warriors to just six shots in the frame and seven after two periods.  The Silvertips on the other hand were able to add to their lead with goals from Remi Laurencelle and Millar to take a three-goal advantage to the second intermission.

The Silvertips tossed more salt on the Warriors wounds in the third period, adding goals from Tristen Pfeifer and Remi Laurencelle, handing Moose Jaw a 5-0 loss.

Millar led the Silvertips with two goals and three points, while Carter Hart was forced to make just 14 saves for the shutout.

Willms faced 30 shots in the Warriors’ net.
