The Moose Jaw Warriors ended a busy weekend with a battle against the Prince Albert Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre.  The Warriors fought to the final buzzer but narrowly fell 3-2 to the Raiders.

The action was fast throughout the opening period as both teams raced up the ice looking to go on the attack.

Prince Albert tossed 17 shots on net in the first period, and they opened the scoring at 11:58 when Ozzy Wiesblatt led an odd-man rush up the ice and finished with a shot past Boston Bilous.

Moose Jaw responded with just over two minutes left in the period and working on the power-play.

Martin Lang fought the puck away from the Raiders along the Prince Albert left boards, and was able to swing it to the blueline for Daemon Hunt.

Hunt then quickly moved the puck to the top of the right circle for leading-scorer Ryder Korczak, who then quickly passed the puck to Cade Hayes between the circles where he snapped a shot past Carter Serhyenko, his seventh goal of the year tied the game at one.

Close to seven minutes into the second period, the Warriors went back to work on the power-play.

Ryder Korczak had the puck on the right-side of the neutral zone, and was able to get away from a Raider before dishing the puck cross-ice to Martin Lang on the left-wing.

Lang brought the puck in and then swung it back to the Korczak in the right circle where he put a shot past the blocker of Serhyenko, his 18th of the season gave Moose Jaw a 2-1 lead.

Prince Albert outshot the Warriors 14-4 in the period, and at 10:54, Kaiden Guhle was able to get a shot off from the blueline that went through traffic and off the post and over the goal line to tie the game at two.

Just over a minute into the third period, the Raiders were able to dig the puck away from the Warriors behind the Moose Jaw net.  Brayden Watts made a pass to Aliaksei Protos on top of the crease where he scored to give Prince Albert the lead.

Moose Jaw fought right to the end and came close to tying the game but just came up short and fell 3-2 to the East Division leaders.

Ryder Korczak led the Warriors with a goal and two points, and Boston Bilous made 40 saves in net.

Moose Jaw was 2-for-5 on the power-play and 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.

Moose Jaw went 2-1 on the weekend and their record sits at 14-40-4.  The boys have Monday off to recharge their batteries before heading into Regina Tuesday for a clash against the Pats.

Coverage from the Brandt Centre starts at 6:40 pm with the Country 100 PreGame Show.

Coming up next weekend, the Warriors have a home-and-home series against the Winnipeg ICE, the action starts Friday in downtown Moose Jaw.
