The last of the residents of Moose Jaw's Valley View Centre have moved from the facility and into new homes this week.  It marks the end of decades of instituionalized living for our friends with intellectual disabilities.

You may be surprised to learn, while the closure was announced just a few years ago, the calls for changes started decades ago.  CHAB's Rob Carnie told one story on his daily commentary, Carnie's Comments, today.  Carnie's Comments

Former Moose Jaw resdient Doug Conn served as Valley View Centre Legacy Network Chair through the process.  As you'll hear, Conn had family connections at Valley View and he believes we've done the right thing by phasing out institutionalized living.
