The work on High Street West will be moving into its next steps soon and we now have an idea of what exactly will take place.

The City began the work this week by performing sewer camera operations and site testing and some temporary road patching, and now the paving contractors can get in on the job.

After SaskPower is finished with their underground wiring this long weekend, the paving contractor will begin work on preparing the roads for the asphalt. This includes trench work, excavation, back fill and compaction work, which will begin on the 300 block and continue west as construction moves along. They expect each block will take a week to 10 days to complete.

Following this, the concrete contractor will fix the damaged sidewalks. Then, after the sidewalk repairs or reconstruction are completed and the compaction work is done, concrete work and asphalt overlay can begin on the roads, which will only take a few days per block.

The City would like to remind everyone that all businesses on High Street remain open during the construction, and all motorists are asked to drive with caution and obey the road signage if they are near area.
