The Moose Jaw Police Service is investigating a pair of break-ins that took place on Tuesday within the city.

The first break-and-enter occurred at MJ Liquidation (17 Thatcher Drive East) at around 8:30 p.m. on July 4.

Police responded to the store following an alarm call and once on scene found the north entrance broken into.

With the use of the K-9 Unit, the police cleared the scene. The security video showed the suspect inside of the building but according to police only got away with a minimum amount of cash from the register.

Police did speak with a couple of suspicious people in the area but were later cleared of being involved by the security camera footage.

This marks the second time MJ Liquidation has been broken into, as in April three suspects got away with several items

The MJPS is currently investigating the incident.

The other break-and-enter took place in the early morning hours of July 4 at the South Hill Liquor Store (450 Lillooet Street West) .

Police were called at 3:00 a.m. following the business owner seeing someone within the liquor store on their security camera.

After confirming the male suspect that they were looking for, police were able to locate and arrest the individual with the assistance of the K-9 Unit not far from the store.

According to the MJPS, all that was stolen were several bottles of alcohol. No dollar value was able to be provided for the stolen alcohol.

The individual has been charged with Theft Under $5,000.

The incident is currently under investigation by the MJPS.

If anyone has any information about either of these incidents, they are asked to contact the MJPS at 306-694-7600.
