Fresh off last weekend’s Invitational, the Moose Jaw High School Badminton League was back on the court for the third senior league night of the season on Tuesday at Peacock Collegiate.

Coming off gold medal finishes on the weekend, Cornerstone’s Rung Thai found herself back on top of the podium, winning the girls singles division on Tuesday. Thai edged out Central’s Katie Coulson in second and Vanier’s Raheil Goiton in third.

The boys singles division saw Vanier’s Hayden Ma claim top spot after finishing second at the Moose Jaw Invitational. Ma beat out Peacock’s Zakir Ullah and teammate Ryan Zerff.

In mixed doubles, Central’s team of Brendan Jesse and Ashlyn Jesse took first place in front of a pair of Peacock teams, Chantal Usher and Gauge Adams as well as Allison Billy and Jacob Radwanski.

Liam Kerr and Carter Voth from Central took first place in the boys doubles division, topping Cornerstone’s John Ferris and Zach Beital in second and Central’s Brayden Bollinger and David Gray in third.

It was a Peacock sweep in the girls doubles division with Allison Billy and Chantal Usher finishing in first place; Sierra Ducharme and Georgia Legare came in second; and Serena Schlamp and Caitlin Miller took third.

The senior city championship tournament will be held next Tuesday at Peacock. Coming up on Wednesday, the junior league hits the court for their third league night of the season.
