Of the 23 cases located in the South-Central zone, 21 are in the sub-region 'South-Central 2', which is comprised of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area

Three more residents who had tested positive for COVID 19 have died, as 56 new cases were announced Wednesday and 158 recoveries.

Two of the deaths were in the 80 plus age group from Saskatoon and the central-east zone, and one death was in the 60-69 age group from the northwest.

Of the new cases, 16 are in Regina, 15 in the far northeast, six in Saskatoon, five in the far northwest, five in the north-central zone, two in the far north-central zone, two in the northwest, one in the central-east, one in the southeast, and one in the south-central zone. Two cases are pending resident information.

23 cases are considered active in the south-central zone, with 21 of those located in the sub-region 'south-central 2' which is made up of Moose Jaw and the surrounding area. 

1,425 cases are considered active, and 165 people are in hospital with 148 receiving inpatient care and 17 are in intensive care.

The following update was also provided by the province regarding ongoing vaccine distributions.

In addition to 81 per cent of long-term care residents having received their first dose and 46 per cent of long-term care residents having received both first and second doses, 76 per cent of Saskatchewan's personal care homes have now received their first dose and 24 per cent have received both doses. Ensuring our priority populations, including seniors living in long-term and personal care homes, are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 remains the priority for the Government of Saskatchewan.

There were 683 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 63,345.

The 683 doses were administered in the Far North West (43), Far North Central (33), Saskatoon (318) and Regina (289) zones. On February 22, an additional 318 doses were administered in the Saskatoon zone and an additional two (2) doses were administered in the Central East zone.

Pfizer vaccine shipments for the week of February 22 have now arrived in the Saskatoon and Regina zones. Shipments for the North West, North Central, and southwest zones are scheduled to arrive later today.
