Thousands of spectators admire 400 cars at the 2nd Annual Little Chicago Show and Shine

You couldn’t have asked for a better day for the 2nd Annual Little Chicago Show and Shine presented by the Downtown Moose Jaw Association. 

The sun was shining over downtown Moose Jaw as over 400 hot rods, rat rods, muscle cars, trucks, and next-gen cars were shined up and being shown off to thousands upon thousands of Moose Javians and tourists. 

“The day's been fantastic! We've had a lot of people come out to the event. Of course, we had a lot of registration,” said Alex Carleton, co-chair of the Little Chicago Show and Shine committee for the Downtown Moose Jaw Association. 

“We had 400 cars registered today. One of the biggest car shows in Saskatchewan and I think a lot of it is because of our fantastic downtown,” Carleton added. 

Several prizes were awarded, the winners included: 

Best Muscle Car – Keelin Ramstead – 1969 Camaro RS/SS Proteus 

Best Hot Rod – John Penna – 1931 Ford Coupe 

Pre-1949 – Al Schultz – 1932 Ford Coupe 

1950-1959 – Jim Bast – 1956 Ford F100 

1960-1969 – Laurie and Kelly Wiens – 1966 Volkswagen Bettle 

1970-1979 – Lorne Huber – 1972 Dodge Starfleet Van 

1980-1989 – Brian Kefford – 1989 Mustand 5.0 LX 

1990-Present – Moe Martin – 1992 Mazda Miata 

Best Rat Rod – Russell Hart – 1925 Ford T Cab 

Best New Gen – Brody Schoffer – 2019 BMW I8 Roadster 

Best In Show – Dwayne Deis - 1968 Pontiac Beamont

Best Truck – Don Winter - 66 Chevrolet Custom Sport Truck

“The highlight of the day is seeing it all come together. You know, we've had a lot of volunteers put a lot of time in for this and it was a fantastic day and everyone came out and supported it and I couldn't be prouder,” said Carleton noting that about 25 volunteers helped with the event. 

The Moose Jaw Motorcycle Association’s annual Salvation Army Toy Run once again made its way through the event. At 2 p.m. motorcyclists made their way up Main Street and drove to the Salvation Army church to donate toys.
