Thirteen new positive cases – including 10 in the south – were reported Friday in the province’s daily COVID-19 update.

The other cases were in the north (two) and the far north (one). This gives the province a total of 772 cases, with 105 of them considered active.

There were six more recoveries. Nine people are in hospital. One person is in intensive care in Saskatoon, and four people are in the south receiving inpatient care

Through the course of the pandemic so far, there have been 13 deaths in Saskatchewan.

Of the province’s 772 cases overall, 163 are travel-related, 465 are community contacts, 103 have no known exposures, and 41 are under investigation by public health.

Fifty-five are health care workers, but the source of the infections may not be related to health care in all instances. Of the currently active cases, 54 are in the far north, four are in the north, nine are in Saskatoon and 38 are in the south. There are no active cases in the central region or the Regina region.

To date, 63,116 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan. As of a couple of days ago, there were 47,186 tests per million people, which is below the national rate of 68,601 per million.

As of Friday afternoon, there were over 102,700 positive cases in Canada with over 8,500 deaths and over 65,000 recoveries. In the United States, there have been over 2.53 million cases and over 127,000 deaths and 1.05 million recoveries.
