The Moose Jaw Legion Branch #59 has received the green light from city council to put on their annual Street Dance and Cabaret.

With liquor licenses acquired, bands selected, and noise bylaws amended to allow the event to proceed, the Legion is now putting out a call for volunteers to make it all happen.

“We’re probably going to be looking (for) somewhere around 30 to 40 volunteers,” said Roy LaBuick, longstanding member of the Royal Canadian Legion and event organizer.

Preparing the 200 block of High Street for an overnight street dance and cabaret is no small undertaking, with numerous volunteer roles available for interested parties to get involved in.

“We are going to need volunteers for working the gates, people to sell tickets, some people to work the bar in shifts as well as to help tear down the next morning,” said LaBuick.

He says that they are also accepting volunteers to help plan and organize the event.

Those interested in volunteering can contact Amanda at the Moose Jaw Legion office at (306) 692-5453.

The Legion Street Dance and Cabaret will take place on June 29, 2024.

If you are interested in attending, early-bird tickets can be purchased at the Legion for $15 each until June 27, or for $20 each after the 27th.
