Residents on the southeast side of the city could hear sirens and potentially see smoke this week.

Details are limited, but Moose Jaw Police have laid charges after a grass fire on Thursday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the southeast corner of the city near Trinity Lane around 3:00 pm. Firefighters say a small area of grass was burned and it was later determined that the fire was deliberately set.

No name has been released but the suspect has been charged and will be appearing in court at a later date.
