In another step towards solving homelessness in the city, Square One announced it has entered into a partnership with Moose Jaw Non-Profit Housing Corporation.

Moose Jaw Non-Profit Housing is just one of several agencies that are collaborating with Square One in its efforts to advocate and secure safe housing for the vulnerable.

“There's a lot of work to be done, but Moose Jaw Non-Profit Housing has been around since the late 80s and their board of directors, which is chaired by Brenda Walper-Bossence, comes with a great deal of experience,” said Square One vice-chair Crystal Froese.

Square One is looking to tap into the Moose Jaw Non-Profit Housing Corporation's expertise when it comes to properties and property management.

Froese shared some of the gaps that the partnership could help fill.

“One of the biggest gaps we have here in our city now is obviously a warming center as we go into the colder months and an emergency shelter,” she said.

Some of these initiatives that Square One pursues do come with a price tag. The organization has a number of raffles and fundraisers underway to help support their cause.
