A big congratulations to Moose Jaw Warriors netminder Connor Ungar as he was named the WHL's goaltender of the week. In two starts and a relief appearance this past week Ungar posted a 2-0 record along with a 0.80 goals against average and a .979 save percentage, which included a 40-save performance in a 3-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades a week ago. Ungar and the Warriors are back on home ice on Friday and Saturday as they host the Red Deer Rebels and Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Hangar.

The Moose Jaw WINMAR AAA Warriors will look to snap a three-game skid on Wednesday when they host the Estevan Bears for the first time this season at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. The puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m., tickets can be bought at SaskTix.ca and can be viewed on IKSLive. The WINMAR Warriors will also host the Saskatoon Blazers in back-to-back home games this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

From the ice to the gridiron, all three Moose Jaw high school football teams will wrap up their regular season on the road this Saturday. The Estevan Elces will host the Central Cyclones, the Peacock Tornadoes will head west to Swift Current, and the Vikings of Vanier will visit Weyburn. If Central can pull off a victory they will tie Yorkton for the top spot in the league. Next weekend the league semifinals will take place.

In senior boy's volleyball action last night, it was the Vanier Vikings taking down Cornerstone in three straight sets.

The NHL starts for four Canadian teams tonight.  The Toronto Maple Leafs will be in Montreal to face the Canadiens, while the Edmonton Oilers host the Vancouver Canucks, who start their season with five consecutive road games.

And the Saskatchewan Roughriders will have a bye this week and will be back on Oct. 22 as they host the Calgary Stampeders.
