Regina Pats phenom Connor Bedard scored the game-winner on Monday night in overtime to secure the 4-3 win over Slovakia, sending Team Canada to the semi-finals at the World Junior Hockey Championship. That was Bedard's second goal of the night - his first made him the Team Canada all-time leader in goals with 15, passing Jordan Eberle. In addition, the point allowed him to pass Eric Lindros's all-time for points with 32. It will be a border battle for team Canada on Wednesday as they take on their arch-rivals, the United States in the semi-finals at 5:30 p.m. CST. 

The Moose Jaw Warriors forward Robert Baco recorded a goal in the loss. Warriors Martin Rysavy and team Czechia continued their dominance at the World Juniors as they will meet Sweden in the other semi-final on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. CST, after a convincing 9-1 over Switzerland on Monday. Rysavy went pointless in the win. 

Speaking of the Warriors they will load the bus and head west to Lethbridge on Wednesday, as they face off with the Hurricanes at 8:00 CST, and James Gallo - the voice of the Warriors will have all the coverage for you on Country 100. The Warriors split a weekend home-and-home series with the Brandon Wheat Kings losing 11-2 on Friday at home and then taking a 6-2 decision on New Year's Eve in Brandon. 

Moose Jaw's AAA squad will return to the ice on Wednesday night and kick off 2023 with a matchup against the Warman Wildcats at the Moose Jaw Events Centre at 8:00 p.m. They currently hold the 8th and final playoff spot with a 10-13-0-3 record. 

The Moose Jaw U15 AA squad opened up 2023 with a 6-1 loss to the Regina Monarchs on Monday night at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
