Chris Bassitt allowed just three hits and a walk over eight shutout innings as the Toronto Blue Jays blanked the Washington Nationals 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at Rogers Centre. Toronto trails Texas by 2.5 games in the hunt for the final wild card spot in the American League. The Jays have the night off before starting a three-game set in Colorado on Friday.

The Moose Jaw Warriors return to the ice today at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. The team opened its 2023 Training Camp on Wednesday with registration and fitness testing for seventy-five returning players and prospects. All on-ice sessions this week are open to the public. Training camp wraps up on Sunday with the annual Black/White Intrasquad Game starting at noon. Local players taking part in the camp include Atley Calvert, Jayce Finiak, Colton Flanagan, and Tyson Ross. A couple of Moose Jaw Winmar AAA Warriors will also be vying for spots on the team including Carson Diechert and Jake Briltz.

The 5-5 Saskatchewan Roughriders continue preparations for the Labour Day Classic on Sunday at Mosaic Stadium against the 9-2 Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The CFL's Week 13 kicks of Saturday with Montreal hosting BC.
