The Moose Jaw Warriors are one win away from moving on to the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference final.The Warriors defeated the Broncos 5-2 in Swift Current last night to take a 3-1 series lead. 

Jagger Firkus had a pair of goals and three points for the Warriors while Ethan Hughes had his first WHL playoff goal. 

The game was tied 2-2 after two but the Warriors scored 3 unanswered goals in the third period.

Moose Jaw will look to finish off the series on Friday night for Game 5 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Puck drop is 7 p.m.

The winner of the series will face the Saskatoon Blades for the Eastern Conference title. The Blades completed a sweep of the Rebels in Red Deer last night with a 7-nothing win.

In Junior Badminton last night, Vanier's Gwen Balayut and Carl Palacio took the top spot in Mixed Doubles, it was Cornerstone's Hailey Doyle for Girls Singles, Kobe Catibog from Vanier for Boys Singles, Nolan Oliveros and Shu Nakamura from Cornerstone for Boys Doubles, and Shyanne Greenwood-Gadd and Lydia Pryadko from Cornerstone for Girls Doubles.

In the NHL the Toronto Maple Leafs dropped a 6-4 to the Tampa Bay lightning, and the Edmonton Oilers fell 5-2 to the Arizona Coyotes.

In the Major Leagues, the New York Yankees came from behind and beat the Toronto Blue Jays 6-4. The Jays will travel to San Diego today for a weekend series against the Padres.
