The Moose Jaw U17 AA Ice are provincial champions once again, after a perfect 5-0 record over the weekend and took down the Regina Saints 6-3 in the final on Sunday afternoon. 

Former Moose Jaw Warriors Director of Hockey Operations and General Manager Alan Millar is heading to the Regina Pats to take over for retiring John Paddock.

Millar has taken the role of Regina Pats' Vice-President, Hockey Operations and General Manager.

During his time in Moose Jaw, Millar was the Director of Hockey Operations for two seasons and was their General Manager for another nine seasons from 2010-2021.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, Julio Acosta would hit an RBI single to pick up the 3-2 walk-off win for the Moose Jaw Miller Express over the Regina Red Sox on Sunday night at Ross Wells Park. Sunday's victory would extend their win streak to eight games. 

Nate Mensik, Chaz Poppy, and Wyatt Tweet would pick up two hits apiece in the win, while Haldon Craig would grab the win in relief, pitching one inning, allowing no hits, and striking out two. Dawson Tweet also extended his hit streak to 32 games with one hit. 

Moose Jaw improves to 22-10 on the season and pushed their east division lead to 7.5 games over the Red Sox. 

Over to some minor baseball, the Moose Jaw 18U AAA Canucks had a good showing in their first-ever home tournament finishing with a 3-1 record, beating the Brandon Marlins 5-4 in their final game on Sunday. The 15U AAA Canucks picked up their 9th win of the season on Saturday with a 19-10 win over the Yorkton Cardinals. 

Over to some Moose Jaw Mustangs Lacrosse, the U17 squad rolled to a 9-3 win to be crowned provincial champs over the Weyburn Thrashers on Sunday. Also, the U15 Mustangs captured a silver medal losing 6-5 in overtime to Weyburn, while the U13 team picked up the bronze after a 12-5 win against Regina.

The Toronto Blue Jays wrapped up their weekend series with the Detroit Tigers with a 4-3 win on Sunday. The Jays will have the week off for the All-Star break.
