A post-apocalyptic action-adventure movie that was filmed in and around Regina in 2017, and premiered at the 2018 Calgary International Film Festival in September.

That's SuperGrid, a movie directed by Canadian Lowell Dean. Dean also directed the horror-comedies WolfCop and Another WolfCop.

The movie was produced by Moose Jaw's own Hugh Patterson. "This one was fun because we didn't have any of these Toronto partners that we had on the WolfCop. So, it was kind of the partners we had on the WolfCop team minus the partners we didn't like."

Saskatchewanian Leo Fafard stars in the film. "It was a real pleasure to come home and work with the home crew. Not that there aren't Sask-y people out in the Okanagan. A pile of the crew out there are actually imports from here. I got to see a lot of old faces and work with people I regularly work with out there. But it was great to do it at home."

A special screening of SuperGrid' takes place Friday, January 25th at 7:00 pm at the Mae Wilson Theatre. Tickets can be purchased at the Cultural Centre or by phone.
