Those who live outside the province's major city centres will be paying more for land line phone service starting in February. SaskTel has announced that the CRTC has approved local rate increases for those in high-cost serving areas.
The increase will range from 7 cents to $2.03 per month depending on the customers current rate starting with the bill for May 1st of this year.
A second and third increase will take place June 1st 2012 and June 1st 2013 respectively, bringing the total to $30 per month province wide.
