It won't be this year but SaskEnergy is planning ahead for future development in Moose Jaw.  The Crown Corporation is looking to build a new town border station in the south industrial park. A TBS reduces pipeline pressure so it can be delivered to homes and businesses.

Senior Communications Officer Casey MacLeod explains there is already one station in the city at the corner of 4th and Thatcher Drive West, but there is a growing need for a better supply.

"It's not just the population or residential customers, there's also industrial and commercial load growth." explained MacLeod. "Where we see our load for natural gas growing, we're trying to get ahead of that and plan for the future so, as that load growth continues, when we need the additional infrastructure, we already have the pieces in place so we can go ahead and build that infrastructure."

MacLeod says it could be two or three years before they start any type of construction.  Including the pipeline needed to supply the station, the entire project is estimated at $9 million. The land for the TBS would be located in the new industrial park on the south side of the city and council has given initial approval to the sale of 5.7 acres of land for $21,000.
