Members of the public are invited to participate in a survey discussing accessibility barriers individuals with disabilities may face when utilizing government facilities, services and programs.

"I encourage all interested members of the public to provide their accessibility experiences when accessing Government of Saskatchewan services," Social Services Minister Gene Makowsky said.

"We are seeking diverse perspectives to guide our work to develop government's accessibility plan."

The survey is being conducted by the Government of Saskatchewan and will take submissions from April, 15 until May 10, 2024.

The results generated by the survey will aid the development of the Government of Saskatchewan's accessibility plan, which falls under requirements set by the Accessible Saskatchewan Act. The act, which has been in place since December 3, 2023, seeks to remove and prevent accessibility-related barriers that individuals with disabilities experience.

The survey covers a range of accessibility barriers, such as physical access to buildings and user experiences while accessing online services.

The survey is available online at Accessibility Legislation for Saskatchewan, and if assistance is required to participate in the survey or an alternative format is required, contact the Saskatchewan Accessibility Office at accessiblesk@gov.sk.ca.
