To help students on their path to finding future employment,  Student Employment Services at Moose Jaw's Saskatchewan Polytechnic held its annual Career Fair on February 7th.

Sask Polytech has been holding this fair in their gym since 2006 and has close to 70 different businesses acquiring a booth every year. Businesses and companies span from involvement in security, to agriculture, accounting, construction, government agencies, banks, and many more.

For some students, it was about finding their career; for others, it was about marketing themselves out there and seeing if they could figure out where they want their future place of employment to be.

"It's all about your passion and figuring out where you see yourself." Shaundra Burton, HR Associate for Conexus was at the businesses booth and explained how students should try to find their employer. "If you were to close your eyes and think of the perfect career and what you would be doing, and then what I always say [is] it's finding that company that aligns with your own personal values and really speaking towards how that would help value them in the long run being at that company."

Burton is just one of the examples of the many business members trying to help students either find a job or recruit them to their company.

"It's a great venue for employers and students to get together all in one place, and for employers to talk to our soon-to-be grads," said Holli Bell, Student Employment Services Coordinator and the event's planner. "It's just a great opportunity for the students to talk to a variety of employers before they have to put out their resumes."
