Earlier this week the Government of Saskatchewan released further guidelines and provided updates on summer camping and live performances as part of the re-open Saskatchewan plan.

When enjoying the outdoors, Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab reminds everyone to follow the guidelines in place.

"There are specific guidelines for people heading out to our beautiful parks and playgrounds, so please be aware of them. For instance, when going to a park you're encouraged to bring your own hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes and follow all other rules that are in place."

The Saskatchewan Health Authority released a statement Friday, urging residents to be more vigilant when it comes to following the public health measures in place, in light of recent new cases in Saskatoon, Lloydminster, Prince Albert, and the southwest.

Dr. David Torr, Public Health Incident Command Centre Co-lead for the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

"We are seeing more positive cases of COVID-19 popping up around the province, reminding us that COVID-19 is everywhere and has no boundaries. Across Saskatchewan, we need to be more vigilant when it comes to preventing the spread of the virus."

"It's really important for all business owners, and all of us living in Saskatchewan to read the guidelines," says Shahab, "Be familiar with the guidelines, so that we can all enjoy the summer and all the activities that are open, in a matter that keeps us and business owners safe, and keeps our case numbers low."

As of July 16th, live performances will be permitted in restaurants and licensed establishments as well as public and farmers markets with physical distancing still being required.
