Two outbreaks of COVID-19 have been declared in the Grade 5 and 6 classes at Sacred Heart School.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority declares an outbreak when two or more individuals test positive for COVID-19 at a non-household related setting. The situation does not necessarily pose a risk to the public.

There are currently four schools in Moose Jaw with ongoing outbreaks, including those at Prince Arthur Community School and St. Michael's Elementary School. Just yesterday, William Grayson school was also added to the list.

In addition, a single case of COVID has been discovered in an individual at both Lindale School and St. Agnes School, however, no outbreaks have been declared as of yet.

In general, the SHA says that the measures put in place at schools have done well at preventing transmission. The majority of cases in school settings are brought in by staff or students who caught the virus in a social or household setting outside of school.
