The Saskatchewan Rush dropped to .500 this season following a 16-13 loss to the Toronto Rock on Friday night in the National Lacrosse League.

The loss puts Saskatchewan at 3-3 this season, which has them tied with Calgary for second place in the West Division.

Mark Matthews led the Rush with two goals and six points, while Ben McIntosh picked up a hat trick and five points. Robert Church and Ryan Keenan had a goal and four points each.

Former Rush forward Adam Jones led Toronto with four goals and eight points in the win.

Both teams came out firing in the first half with the Rush trailing 6-5 after the opening 15 minutes. Toronto took control in the second quarter as they scored five times to take an 11-7 lead.

The Rush outscored Toronto 6-5 in the second half, but couldn't claw all the way back.

Rush goalie Evan Kirk stopped 36-of-52 shots, while Saskatchewan was held to 46 shots in the loss. 

Special teams cost the Rush as Toronto went 3-for-6 on the power play and Saskatchewan didn't receive a power play opportunity.

Saskatchewan is back on the court on Saturday to host the Calgary Roughnecks at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. They hit the floor at 7:30 p.m.
