Following a strong victory last week, the Roughriders are hoping to stay hot tonight as they take on Montreal.

The Alouettes quarterback Antonio Pipkin will start tonight, replacing the injured Vernon Adams, who was concussed last week.

Riders Head coach Craig Dickenson's team is not about to take Montreal lightly.

"They're a very physical, impose your will on sort of team. We've talked all week about it. We think they're going to be a blue collar, grind it out sort of team. In some way I think we're built that way, and trying to get there."

Dickenson expects a hard run game out of Montreal.

"Montreal is very physical. You're going to see them try to run the ball I believe and try to hit us with some play action. And that defense has gotten better every week."

The Riders are banged up on both sides of the ball with some starters remaining out of practice on Wednesday. Defensive lineman Micah Johnson is out with an ankle sprain, with a few other players landing on game time decisions.

Quarterback Cody Fajardo knows how their defense plays, and is looking to stay on top of it.

"They're going to drop off into a lot of zones. They're going to take away a lot of our deep balls, similar to what Calgary did to us. They've had a lot of success with it. They're not a big blitz team. So they're not going to pressure the quarterback, they're going to drop into their zones. That's why we've got to stay out of second and long, because they want us to throw the 4 yard pitch."

The 4-3 Riders travelled to Montreal on Wednesday, to take on the 3-3 Alouettes in week 9 action.

Kick off is Friday August 9th at 5 PM.
