It's the kind of story that makes me angry, anxious and worried.  It's making headlines around the world.  It's about the gap between rich and poor.

Oxfam, our international confederation of charitable organizations focused on the alleviation of global poverty, tells us the inequality gap is widening and "the world's richest 1% are collecting 82% of the wealth."

They've found the world's billionaires made about $762 billion in 2017.  Oxfam tells us that money alone is more than enough to bring an end to extreme poverty around the world, seven times over!

Oxfam experts say the erosion of workers' rights, cost-cutting and big business influencing policy decisions are the main reasons for the growing inequality gap.

Interesting, 42 people own the same amount of wealth as the poorest 50% of people worldwide.  42 people!

I wonder if any of them buy lottery tickets?
