The number of cases remains unchanged from yesterday because one previous positive test was re-tested and found to be negative.

“All lab tests have limitations,” the provincial release Monday said. “False positive or false negative results may occur. The probability of a false positive result occurring increases as the prevalence of a disease in a population decreases. If a positive test result is in question, the original sample is re-tested, and an additional sample is also taken for testing.  If these are negative, the initial finding is determined to be a false positive.”

Saskatchewan still has the fifth most active cases in Canada.

Nationally as of Monday afternoon, there have been over 91,600 confirmed cases and over 7,300 deaths from COVID-19. There have also been over 49,400 recoveries.
