Tuesday night at the regular meeting of Moose Jaw city council, councillors have a few issues they will look to tackle.

Taking a second look at a modest increase in rec fees across the city, Parks and Rec Department wants to ensure our facilities and programs are more accessible to youth, young families and seniors in Moose Jaw.

Council also looks to discuss a request from the Hillcrest Golf Club to take out a $400,000 loan to renovate the Hillcrest clubhouse.

In 2017, Hillcrest’s profits totalled just over $2,900. This year, that increased to just over $360,000 dollars.

The Hillcrest Golf Course is currently under a lease agreement with the City of Moose Jaw. According to the Terms of Agreement, Hillcrest currently cannot enter into any debt obligation exceeding $75,000.

And finally, the City manager will be presenting a third-quarter review of the various City Departments for the period July 1st to September 30th.

Included is an overview of the City of Moose Jaw Fire department finances and activities.

According to the meeting's agenda, incidents of “malfunctioning equipment” are up from an average of seven per quarter to 54 this quarter alone.

We’ll have more on these stories later this week.
