Moose Jaw Police responded to 49 calls for service.

7:00 am – 900 Block Hastings St – Theft– A vehicle was entered sometime overnight, and an IPad, charger and smokes were taken.  The property was recovered from a subject who was detained earlier in the morning for entering vehicles on the 1200 block of Athabasca St W.  The property was returned to its rightful owner.

7:46 am – 1100 Block Currie Cr – Suspicious Person – A plate number, vehicle description and description of a subject were obtained for a report of someone passed out in a vehicle.  Upon police arrival the subject was no longer in the vehicle and refused to answer the door of the residence.  Police are to follow up with the subject.

8:27 am – 900 Block Fairford St E – Assist Other Agency – There was a request to keep the peace while a vehicle was seized.  There were no issues.

8:54 am – 300 Block Hochelaga St W – Found Property – A pink princess backpack containing wet clothing was turned in to police.  It was exhibited for destruction.

9:14 am – 900 Block Hastings St – Mischief – An upset client kicked a hole in the wall and left the residence.  They were located by police and transported to the hospital as per the complainant’s request.

9:20 am – 1100 Block Currie Cr – Found Property – A wallet containing ID was located and turned in to police.  Police are to contact the owner to return it.

10:12 am – 1100 Block Willow Av – Assist to Locate – A family was requesting assistance in contacting a family member.  The family member was located and advised.

10:59 am – 1st Av NW at Oxford St W – Found Property – A black Samsung cell phone was located and turned in to police.  Attempts at contacting the owner were unsuccessful.

11:31 am – 1400 Block Regal Cr – Assault – A client was being violent, with the behaviour escalating to the individual throwing things.  The subject was charged with assault and breaching court orders.   The individual was released by a judge on conditions for court at a later date.

1:19 pm – 200 Block Coteau St W – Break & Enter – Sometime overnight a garage door was kicked in and the garage was spray-painted.  Police continue to investigate.

1:22 pm – 1400 Block Smith St – Dispute – A disrespectful teenager was acting out and throwing property around.  Police attended and mediated the situation for the time being.

1:29 pm – Main St N at Fairford St W – Other Bylaw – This occurred October 18 at approximately 12:45 pm.  A subject was observed crossing the street against the cross-walk sign.  A statement is to be obtained from the complainant.

1:38 pm – 0 Block Thatcher Dr E – Theft – Subjects were observed stealing items and leaving the store.  The subjects were located with stolen property and were charged and released for court at a later date.

2:00 pm – 300 Block Ross St W – Unwanted Guest – A subject who had been asked to leave and is on court orders not to be there was refusing to leave.  The individual was gone prior to police arrival.  Police are still investigating to obtain statements for charges.

4:03 pm – 1300 Block Spadina St – Recovered Stolen Property – A truck that was previously reported stolen was located in an alley.  The vehicle was seized and is to be processed by Ident.

5:28 pm – 1100 Block Algoma Av – Hit & Run – This occurred sometime today, with approximately $1000 of damage to the passenger’s side wheel area.

5:53 pm – 2nd Av NW at Fairford St W – A plate number and vehicle description were obtained from a vehicle believed to be driven by an impaired driver.  The driver was seen leaning out of the vehicle and throwing up, and the individual refused assistance from the complainant.  The complainant was able to follow the vehicle until police could arrive.  The subject was detained for an impaired driving investigation and was subsequently charged with impaired driving and exceeding a BAC of .08.  The vehicle was seized for 60 days and the subject was held until sober.

5:56 pm – 900 Block Athabasca St W – Well Being Check – The subject was located and home with family.  There was no concern for their well-being; the individual has supports in place.

7:10 pm – 1100 Block 1st Av NE – Suspicious Person – A subject was observed throwing brand new clothing into garbage cans in an alley, and pictures were obtained.  Police attended to the area; however, the subject was not located.  Police are to retrieve the photos and video from the store where merchandise was taken in order to identify the suspect.

7:14 pm – 400 Block Diefenbaker Dr – Hit & Run – This occurred between 6:00 am and 6:15 pm, with approximately $4000 of damage to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle.

8:37 pm – 800 Block Duffield St – Break & Enter – Sometime between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm, a garage was entered and property was taken. Police are still investigating to speak with the suspect.

8:46 pm – 0 Block Wood Lily Dr – Well Being Check – Concerning posts on Facebook alerted a family to request a well-being check.  Upon a police check the subject was found to be fine and denied making posts.  The subject was in breach of court ordered conditions and was therefore was detained. They were held in cells until sober and released for court at a later date.

10:16 pm – 1300 Block 13th Av SW – Assist to Locate – A subject was not home for house curfew.  Several locations were checked with negative results.  Police continue to investigate.

10:54 pm – 0 Block Home St E – Assault with Weapon – A subject was bear-sprayed by an unknown person.  The subject was transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment.

11:33 pm – 300 Block Lillooet St W – Attempt Theft – A group of teenagers attempted to enter a vehicle; however, they were scared off.  One subject located in the area was spoken to and did not have any stolen property.

2:30 am – 500 Block Home St W – Mischief – The driver’s side windows were smashed and the tires were slashed, causing approximately $1500 of damage.  Suspects were provided; however, the vehicle owner did not wish to provide a statement.
