In a surprise to nobody, Moose Jaw Warriors captain Brayden Point was one of 30 players named to the National Junior Team selection camp on Tuesday.

Point is one of three players returning from last year's gold medal squad, joined by Victoria Royals defenceman Joe Hicketts and Kingston Frontenacs forward Lawson Crouse.

In 19 games this season with the Warriors, Point has 18 goals and 43 points. He had two goals, four points and was a plus-six in seven games at the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championship.

In total, ten WHL players were named to the selection camp, including Saskatchewan natives Hayden Fleury of the Red Deer Rebels and Rourke Chartier of the Kelowna Rockets.

The selection camp will open on Dec. 10 with exhibition games against CIS All-Stars on Dec. 12-13.

Canada will open the 2016 World Junior Hockey Championships in Helsinki, Finland on Boxing Day against the United States. They face Denmark on Dec. 28, Switzerland on Dec. 29 and Sweden on Dec. 31.
