The Terry Fox Run is an annual event which gets people across the country up and running to raise money for cancer research. However, Moose Jaw is still in need of an organizer to run the event before September 18th.

"Lots of people have... expressed interest," explained Nicole Broom, Public Relations Assistant at the Terry Fox Foundation in Saskatchewan, "but then with other... activities it's kind of conflicted, so we've had no one step up this year.

Broom says that an run organizer would be expected "to provide the run route, promote the run, oversee the run on the day of the event, recruit and coordinate volunteers in the committee, and collect and submit pledge sheets and donations which will be then sent to our office once the run is over".

She said that the Terry Fox foundation would provide certain supplies for the event, such as "lawn signs, pledge sheets, T-shirts", etc.

The foundation is hoping that someone will come forward and apply for the position soon. More information on the job and how to apply can be found at www.terryfoxrun.org, or by emailing Heather Mackenzie, the Provincial Director for the foundation, at heather.mackenzie@terryfoxrun.org
